Front Desk Associate
Position Description: This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts quickly to new technology, and wants to make a difference in their community. Consistency and timeliness are extremely important for these shifts because they involve opening the building on time. If you enjoy connecting with people and can effectively balance overlapping demands in a customer service position, we would like to hear from you!
- We’re currently hiring for opening shifts at our Front Desk. We’re looking to bring on one part-time staff member:
- Position 1 (Morning Opening Shifts): Mondays & Fridays (5:45 am-9:30 am) Approx. 7.5 hrs/week
- Position 2 (Evening Closing Shifts): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (2:30 pm – 8:15 pm) Approx. 23 hrs/week

Personal Trainer
Position Description: The NECC is looking to hire a personal trainer to join our team. Personal Trainers are responsible for helping clients achieve individualized fitness goals by empowering and encouraging health programming. Trainers will design, modify, and support the client’s personalized program based on fitness level, goals, musculoskeletal injuries, and medical conditions. The position includes maintaining availability and a current schedule on the MindBody platform, returning client calls and emails, providing copies of workout guides, and answering questions and concerns that meet clients’ needs.
Our trainers are inclusive and support everybody’s individual strength and wellness. Instructors are aware of racial and economic health disparities and are committed to furthering health equity in their role at the NECC. Trainers will support any gender identity and expression of participants.
- Compensation & Benefits: $38 per hour training wage, accrued paid time off, and complimentary NECC Membership.

Substitute Basketball Coach
Position Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Substitute Basketball Coach to lead our youth basketball program when our League Coordinator is unable to attend the games. Our current League Coordinator will train the substitute prior to any shifts. This position involves managing the day-to-day of our Winter and Spring Jr. NBA leagues, focused on fun, skill development, and enriching experiences for young athletes.

- Compensation & Benefits: $22 per hour, accrued paid time off, and a complimentary NECC Membership.
- Must have schedule flexibility during the Winter & Spring league games on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Possibility for some weekday evening shifts substituting for basketball practices if volunteer parent coaches can’t make a practice. All substitution needs will be communicated and planned ahead of time.

Lifeguard

Position Description: We are a single-guard pool with a focus on community building and emergency prevention. We’re seeking an individual who’s passionate about aquatics and thrives in a team environment, dedicated to upholding safe aquatic practices.
- Starting hourly wage: $16.50-$18 per hour depending on experience

- Applicants must be at least 16 years old and hold a current Lifeguard Certification OR be at least 16 years old and willing and able to participate in ARC Lifeguard Certification process through The Northeast Community Center
Swim Instructor

Position Description: Our instructors teach swimming skills and water safety to children in a non-competitive, recreational program using the Red Cross Learn to Swim curriculum. We are looking for someone with a passion for aquatics who is able to work cooperatively as part of a team, attentive and engaged with their students, and able to incorporate diverse and fun activities into effective lessons.
- The person in this position must be at least 16 years old and able to acquire a Lifeguard certificate. If you aren’t certified but seem like a good fit for the role, the NECC will pay for your training.
- Starting hourly wage $17-18 per hour depending on experience
- Weekdays between 12:00pm – 8:00pm and Weekends between 9am – 5:00pm
