One great benefit to Family Membership is Child Watch. Our well-equipped, just-for-kids Child Watch space is free of electronic media, giving children the opportunity to engage in creative play. NECC Child Watch staff is Red Cross CPR and AED First Aid certified.
Starting September 3rd 2024, Child Watch is open 7:50 am to 12:15 pm Monday through Friday, and Youth Members, ages 2-9 years old, may utilize Child Watch for up to 2 hours while an adult family member is using the facility. Child Watch is drop in only, no pre registrations are taken. We have a maximum of 8 children at a time.
- Family members must stay on NECC premises with their phone on if they have a child checked into Child Watch.
- Child Watch staff does not change diapers or accompany children to the bathroom, so parents must be available to help with bathroom/diapers if needed.
- Children can be sent with a snack and/or drink, but it must be nut-free and eaten at a table.
- Children must be 3 years or older to use the upstairs loft in Child Watch.
- Please tell Child Watch staff about any allergies or accommodations each time you check into Child Watch.
Price for single use: $12/visit per child. Stay up to two hours at a time. Pay at our our front desk.
Punch Card: Buy a virtual punch card for $108 – 9 visits and get the 10th visit free! Buy a virtual punch card at our front desk or call 503-284-3377.
- Can I share my virtual punch card with other youth on my account? Yes! The punch card should automatically apply to youth linked to the same membership. The punch card will not apply to children outside of your household.
- How long is a punch card valid? One year from purchase date. All punch cards are final sale.
- How do I know how many punches I have left? When you check into Child Watch on the iPad, a pop up will appear that says the remaining balance.
- What if I arrive and Child Watch is full? We are not able to admit additional kids once our capacity of 8 children has been reached. We prioritize low child-to-adult ratios for the safety of the children. We encourage all participants to check the live counter to see how many kids are in the room before coming to the center. Remember to refresh it!
Punch Cards are final sale and valid for one year from the purchase date.
