Spring Break Camp
The below information was for our 2024 Spring Break Camp; we will update this page in early 2025.
Join us for Spring Break Camp at NECC! We are excited to offer a fun and engaging Spring Break day camp for your children! Our camp will run from 9:00am to 4:00pm, over Portland Public School’s Spring Break.
During the week, youth can expect to participate in a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, walk to Grant Park (weather permitting), and free time in our playrooms and gymnasium. At the end of the day, children will have the chance to swim in our indoor warm water pool. Our goal is to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can have fun and make new friends!
We ask that all campers bring a packed lunch and snack and wear comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for a range of activities. A water bottle is also recommended.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at youth@necommunitycenter.org. We look forward to a fantastic Spring Break with your child! Registered participants will receive a detailed email the week prior to camp with logistics and instructions.

ACCOMMODATIONS: To inquire about special accommodations, please reach out to the Youth Programs Manager, Ava Shannon, at youth@necommunitycenter.org. We are prepared to care for neurodivergent children and work with families to meet children’s specific needs. Please note that our program allows kids to have extended periods of free time, which can be challenging for children who succeed with more structure or more individualized guidance and redirection. If you would like to discuss if this would be the right fit for your child, please reach out to the program manager.
POOL:
The NECC has provided children and adults safe opportunities to use the pool throughout the pandemic. Children will have life guard monitored open swim time in our pool during all camps.
If you would like your child to have the opportunity to swim, please send your child with a swimsuit, towel, and any extra bathroom supplies you think your child will need. Campers will use the universal locker room with private, individual changing stalls. A camp counselor will be in the pool with the children at all times, and our head lifeguard will perform a daily skill check to use the deep end. Children who cannot reach the floor in our shallow end must wear a lifejacket (we are happy to provide them). Children who do not wish to swim will be able to play with camp counselors in our Child Watch room.
If you have any further questions about the program or need to discuss accommodations for your child, please reach out to our Youth Programs Manager youth@necommunitycenter.org
