Dear NECC Members and Community,
For the last ten years, Executive Director Kim Montagriff has shepherded the NECC through a remarkable evolution to be the treasured hub of health, wellbeing, social connectivity, and community resilience that we are today. With a combination of sadness (for us) and happiness (for Kim), we want to let you all know that Kim will be retiring in February 2023.
For Kim, this is a perfect time to retire, because she is able to move on knowing that the NECC is stronger and more relevant than ever. With our 2021-2023 Strategic Plan, we now have a clear path forward to be a truly inclusive, welcoming, equitable community center. Under Kim’s careful stewardship the NECC weathered the pandemic with renewed focus on providing community-responsive programming that supports individual wellbeing and creates a healthy and resilient community. Kim has assembled and supports an amazing team of smart, energetic, and competent folks who greet us, teach us, engage us, and keep the center running smoothly every day.
During her tenure at the NECC Kim shepherded the center through many changes and much growth. She leaves at this time with pride in all she has accomplished and with the awareness that a change in leadership can bring fresh insights and new perspectives. We share that pride and appreciate her thoughtfulness and care for the NECC’s next phase.
Starting this week, we are kicking off a recruitment process for a new Executive Director and we will keep you apprised of the process as it proceeds.
On behalf of the NECC Board of Directors, we want to express our immense gratitude for Kim’s leadership and vision! We are glad that Kim will be with us through her retirement date in February to help prepare for a seamless transition.
Thank you for your engagement in our community center. We look forward to what is ahead!
Best regards,
Deborah Stein and Virginia Durost
