MISSION
The Northeast Community Center’s mission is to build and support a thriving and resilient intergenerational community in NE Portland. Guided by our values, the NECC provides physical space and community-responsive programs that promote well-being, foster relationships, empower individuals, and center equity.
VISION
The Northeast Community Center envisions a thriving, empowered, resilient community where families, friends and individuals of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, sizes, religions, income, and immigration status come together to foster physical, social and emotional well-being for all.
VALUES
COLLABORATION. We believe that individual and community well-being is only possible when we acknowledge and listen to the needs, wants, and experiences of all community members. Through collaboration we can create a shared sense of responsibility for the Center that will ensure its preservation for years to come.
WELL-BEING. We believe that everyone is deserving of well-being regardless of age, race, gender, physical ability, or size. We live into this value by providing space for movement, balance, play, connection, and expression for all.
EQUITY & INCLUSION. We respect the dignity of all people and are committed to embedding equity and inclusion into every aspect of the NECC. We are dedicated to holding ourselves and our community accountable for challenging systems of oppression.
LEARNING. We commit to ongoing reflection and seek to foster curiosity and growth within the Northeast Portland community and beyond. We value new perspectives, experiences, and discoveries, and we embrace learning and transformation at all stages of life.
