Supplement Your Health Insurance Membership
Northeast Community Center (NECC) participates in the following fitness and healthy aging programs in which select insurance companies provide the benefit of membership at participating facilities such as NECC.
These programs reimburse the center on a per-visit basis. These visits are capped at 4-6 visits each month, depending on the program. Unfortunately, even if a member comes in enough times for us to reach the cap, the reimbursement rates from these programs remain lower than our regular membership dues.
Over the last 12 years, we’ve successfully negotiated a rate increase only twice, and our most recent attempt this summer was unsuccessful. As more members join through these plans, it has become increasingly difficult to generate the revenue needed to maintain our services and our aging building.
While the insurance programs cap reimbursements at $42 per month, we often receive far less if members attend infrequently. With approximately 400 active members in this program, the gap between reimbursement and what we would normally charge amounts to about $300,000 each year.
Given the importance of these programs to many of our members, our Board of Directors made the difficult decision to continue offering them for the time being. However, without additional financial support, we may not be able to continue beyond 2026. We are asking all members of health insurance memberships if you would help us close the gap by making a monthly donation of $41 or an annual donation of $492. Any amount meaningful to you is meaningful to us and we thank you. Your contribution would exclusively support facility upkeep and the classes you enjoy as part of your membership, it would not assist in funding any other NECC programs. Eligibility
You may qualify for one of these programs, if you are at least age 65 and currently enrolled in some Medicare plans. Those under 65 may also be eligible through their employer, health plan, or other participating organization.

Getting Started

- We will provide you with the membership paperwork if you are eligible, then
- You’re all set to enjoy your membership!
We ask that members visit the center at least 4 times in a calendar month for Silver/Active & Fit and 6 times for OnePass and Renew Active to ensure NECC receives the maximum amount of reimbursement from these programs.
In some instances, Silver/Active & Fit ® participants may be required to inform the program that the NECC will be their designated fitness facility. To do so, please call 1-877-329-2746.
