The NECC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea A’Jay Scipio as our new Executive Director.
As a board, we have come to the unanimous view that A’Jay has the experience, leadership skills and vision to propel the NECC toward our goal of becoming a thriving and fully inclusive center of community resilience, social connectivity, health, and wellbeing.
A’Jay has managerial experience in the non-profit sector and a record of success in getting initiatives off the ground and flourishing. Most recently, she served as Program Manager of the largest serving emergency food program in Oregon, and prior to that, she spent years building youth development programs and community impact outreach projects with multiple nonprofit organizations, as well as for the State of Kansas. These programs served thousands of diverse children, youth, and community members—whose needs varied due to a multiplicity of environmental, social, and economic factors. As a nonprofit leader, she has successfully maneuvered the delicate balance between dedication to mission, the need for bold changes, making clear decisions, and the application of sound business management.
A’Jay brings a collaborative and transparent work style, energy and passion for community-building and demonstrated experience centering anti-racist, social justice and racial equity in organizational and community environments. The board and the staff are excited to partner with A’Jay as the NECC continues to evolve.
Please join us in welcoming A’Jay to the NECC!
