Red Cross When I’m In Charge Course
Designed for youth ages 8 to 11, this 2 1/2 hour Red Cross course prepares children to respond safely to a variety of situations when direct parent supervision is unavailable.
Participants will:
- Role play answering phone and door situations
- Discuss gun and Internet safety
- Discuss personal safety and first aid situations
- Each student receives a participation guide, note pads and a blank emergency phone list to fill out at home.

Past Offerings Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid (Infant/Child/Adult) Training Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid (Infant/Child/Adult) ReviewThis is a review class. You must have had American Red Cross CPR/AED training within the last two years to be able to take this class. During the class you will review basic lifesaving skills including rescue breathing, chest compression (CPR), and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). First aid information will be reviewed. Infant, child and adult methods will be included in this course. Red Cross Babysitters Training Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding Training course will receive certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
During this class you will learn the basic lifesaving skills including rescue breathing, chest compression (CPR), and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). You will also gain basic knowledge of life threatening illnesses. Infant, child and adult methods will be included in this course.
This course teaches what you need to know and what every parent wants in a safe and responsible babysitter! Recommended for 11 – 15 year olds, the Babysitters Training course can help you:
To train students in Lifeguarding. Through classroom learning and hands-on practice, you’ll learn surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries, rescue skills in the water & on land, and First Aid training and professional rescuer CPR/AED to help you prepare for any emergencies.
Registration Policies:
Registration is required for all listed activities. Our classes must meet minimum and maximum enrollment standards. Classes may fill quickly or classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment. If you have a registered for a class that must be cancelled, you will be contacted and entitled to a prorated or full credit. Refunds will be given if request is received prior to 3 days before the start of the activity.
