Physical Self-defense Classes (Portland Police Bureau)


Look  for an upcoming session in the Fall 2010!  We will also be hosting a GirlsStrength in the late spring/early summer!


WomenStrength physical self-defense classes focus on learning and practicing verbal and physical strategies.  The verbal strategies include verbal assertiveness, confrontation and de-escalation, among others.  Physical strategies include incapacitating strikes to vulnerable body parts, escapes from holds, and simple blocks.  Registration and attendance at all three classes is required. (maximum 20 students)

  • Open to any women or girls over 13 yrs (accompanied by adult)
